Bio

 

DjRj (Ron Swarsen) lives in Denver, Colorado, where he has been an active player in support of the Latin dance scene as a dancer, Dj and supporter and promoter of live music.  He has been Dj-ing since 2007 at various venues in Colorado including the Dnote, Avalon, Rio Grande, Jet, Salsa Central Denver, Opal MamboSoul, Colorado Springs, Alamosa and Boulder venues, fund raisers, art museums, corporate events, outdoor sasla events, the Denver Salsa/Bachata Congress, Mambo Mondays, Mambo Mania, Salsa on Broadway, 1446 Mambo, Salsa on Fridays, and various others. 

 

Outside of Denver, he has DJ’d at various congresses and festivals including the Reno Bachata Festival in 2012, 2013 in the salsa room; Albuquerque Latin Dance Fesitval 2012, 2013, 2014; Dallas Bachata Festival 2013, 2104, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022; Bachata Festivals in the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo and Las Terrenas and the Washington DC Bachata Festival 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and 2022, Djing both Salsa & the traditional Bachata room.  He Dj’d for the Joan Soriano event in Washington DC in April 2013 and also DJ’d for Bachata 101 in New York City in 2014.

November 2015: He toured Europe, DJ'-ing at Bachata Con Sentmiento #3 and Cartegena Salsa Bar in Brussels, Belgium as well as MamboSoul in Bern, Switzerland.  He also Dj'd in 2017 & 2018 in Moscow, Russia at the Dominican Flow Festival, Latin Night Jersey, Channel Islands and London Bodega as a guest DJ.  In 2018, he DJ'd in Stockholm, Sweden at KeloKe Bachata Festival, Berlin Salsa Congress and Bachata Mania, in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Besides an extensive digital collection, he also DJ’s vinyl nights.  In October 2016 he DJ'd inSeattle, Washington at All Vinyl Salsa Nights (AVS).  In 2012, 2015 and 2016 he brought Joan Soriano (bachata) and his band from the Dominican Republic for concerts in Denver, Colorado.  He also was involved in producing Tromboranga (salsa) from Barcelona, Spain in concert in Denver in 2015.

He maintains one group on Facebook: Bachata Colorado (the original bachata group in Colorado) since July 2012.

Upcoming gigs so far for 2023 include Cleveland Latin Gala Festival in September and his 10th year  at the Dallas Bachata Festival in October.
